Encouraging for the CBD

Dear Editor,

I was so pleased and relieved to see on your front page on your August 21 edition that Dimmeys has been saved from closure. Full marks to the landlord for reducing the rent. As stated in the article, there is an increase in online shopping and fewer people visiting the CBD.

I believe it’s time now for the Greater Shepparton City Council to do something about the parking fees so that people can be encouraged to spend more time in the CBD. Perhaps property owners could consider lowering the rates for businesses, so that we could have a much more vibrant city centre.

Yours sincerely,

Ann Worcester
