THERE is something special about hearing that a father and son have both come away as winners from a motocross event, especially when it is the son’s first championship win and that’s exactly what local Toolamba residents, Scott Briant and 6-year-old son, Carter have done.

At the recent inaugural 2018 Interclub Series, Scott and Carter both faired well, each winning their category. The races took place at tracks in Myrtleford, Albury, Winton and Cobram with Carter taking out the 50cc category and Scott taking the title for the VETS category.

Scott said, “Carter has been riding since he was 18 months old.

“He was a fair way in front through the races. It was a bit scary to watch actually.

“I was very proud of him. I knew he would do well.

“He did so well that Cleaves Garden Supplies have said they will be his sponsor for next year, which is amazing.

“We’d like to thank AJ’s Motorcycles, Southern Rod & Custom and Tunetech Suspension for their help with maintenance and parts.

“Carter’s next race will be in Cobram this weekend. There will be three races in one day and if he wins that he will take the Cobram Club Champs title.”

Carter said, “I was very happy to win. I was going very fast.

“It was lots of fun and I love the jumps the most.”
