THE members of the GV Health Extended Care Auxiliary are lending a hand to help purchase a patient lifting machine worth $12,000 and a blood pressure machine worth $2,500 for GV Health’s Grutzner House through a special film fundraiser event at Village Cinemas.

Running on Thursday, October 11 the film, The Bookshop, will start at 1:15pm and stars Billy Night (as seen in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) as well as Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson.

GV Health Extended Care Auxiliary president, Heather Lloyd and secretary, Lolene James said, “Our auxiliary started off to help both Grutzner House and the Mary Coram Unit because we thought they were perhaps the two areas that needed the most help.

“This donation will help to make the patient’s lives a little more tolerable.

“We’re always looking for new members to assist us in organising important fundraising events like this one.”

Cost is $25 per ticket and $1 raffle tickets are available, with tickets available from Mimma’s Hairdressing, Wyndham Mall Walkway or by phoning 5831 8220, or from members and Lolene James on 5821 9182. Afternoon tea will follow the film.
