Help finalise bushfire management strategies

STRATEGIC bushfire management planning is an important action that is undertaken to reduce bushfire risk to local communities and the environment.

As part of the Safer Together initiative, the public is being encouraged to provide feedback on how fire fighters can prioritise their work and resources across the region.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer of the Hume Region, Aaron Kennedy said, “We have brought together land and fire managers, communities and other key stakeholders to develop a common understanding of bushfire risk across the landscape, and to determine appropriate management actions to reduce that risk.

“We are now seeking input on the final strategy, which was created from what people said were important during this widespread consultation with community members across the region.”
