Computers are frightening, the older we get, the more frightening they become. Yet so much around us is now done with computers. Banking, online shopping, all the information we need to improve our golf, it is all there but how to safely get at it?

The Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre (MEAC) are now running a free computer training course for older people funded by the Federal Government, to get them familiar with computers and help them find where they can do all the things they need as well as work safely online.

The course is broken down into five-minute segments starting at the very basics about computers and even smartphones, including lessons on how to turn the machine on, then goes on and gets into more detailed usage about all you need to know to safely work with computers in a way that even I can understand.

MEAC have the computers and instructors who will very patiently help even absolute novices get familiar with computers that in turn, will open a whole new world of discovery.

The course is being run at MEAC, located at 23 Alexandra Street, Mooroopna, or phone number 5825 1774.
