‘Plenty’ of big name acts to headline festival

THE bar is being raised when it comes to local music events. The two headline acts as part of the upcoming, new Land of Plenty festival have made a name for themselves in triple j’s hottest 100 countdown.

The acts, which have featured in the hottest 100 15 times and both in the top 10, will be announced on May 14 and will be joined by one lucky local artist when the festival takes over the Shepparton Showgrounds on November 2 this year.

Land of Plenty, which got its name thanks to over 500 community survey submissions, will be a one day, all ages music festival and will also feature art displays, market stalls, gourmet food vans and carnival rides.

Greater Shepparton City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Shelley Sutton said, “The community has expressed their desires to see more large scale music, arts and cultural events in the region and we are sure the public will be greatly entertained at Land of Plenty,” Cr Sutton said.

“Council and Shepparton Show Me are excited to partner with Red Hill Entertainment who have successfully hosted one of the nation’s leading camping festivals, Unify Gathering.

“We are encouraging locals to really get behind this exciting event to support and help it become an iconic music festival for the region.”

General admission tickets will be $99, The Big Apple VIP tickets will be $149 and will go on sale at 9am AEST, Thursday, May 16.
