RSL to benefit from war heritage collections training

THE Shepparton RSL Sub-Branch is one of 14 ex-service organisations that has been selected to participate in a new round of the War Heritage Collections Training Program, part of the Andrews Labor Government’s Veterans Heritage Project.

The first round of the War Heritage Collections Training Program was tremendously successful and helped five ex-service organisations catalogue and preserve hundreds of unique items that reflect Australia’s proud war heritage.

The War Heritage Collections Training Program provides ex-service organisations with expert museological support, a tailored report identifying collection priorities, up to $5,000 to work with a conservation professional to repair and maintain memorabilia and support for digital cataloguing.

Shepparton RSL Sub-Branch will use the funding to train their volunteers up to the highest standard to ensure we maintain high quality, well cared for military displays.
