LOCALS are encouraged to get Active for Life this summer, with an enormous array of activities available during the warmer months.

Running from October 2018 until April 2019 as part of the Activities in the Park program, Active for Life offers weekly sports, health and wellbeing activities.

Stretch yourself with strength training or tai chi and get active with sporting activities like table tennis, badminton and self-defence.

The Active for Life sessions that fall under the Activities in the Park program run for free at the Shepparton Stadium, as a sort of taste test for participants. On other occasions there is a small fee involved.

The full schedule for Activities in the Park Program can be accessed via the extremely handy ‘Get Mooving’ phone app, which allows users to register for events or add activities to their digital calendar with ease.

Eighty-one year-old badminton player, Brian McCabe said, “I love the relaxed atmosphere, it means I can just come down and play whenever I feel up to it.”

The next free event will be social badminton, running Wednesday, October 31, between 9am and 11am.

To get involved, simply download the Get Mooving app, visit the website at www.getmoovingshepparton.com.au, like ‘Get Mooving Greater Shepparton’ on Facebook, or give Carmen a call on 5832 9434.
