One of the dominant companies in the region has joined forces with the primary source of apprenticeship training in the Goulburn Valley to provide scholarships for apprentices.
GOTAFE announced a Memorandum of Understanding with Shepparton’s SPC at the Fryer Street Food Festival on Saturday night with both parties sharing a commitment to the economic and social prosperity of the region.
The arrangement involves SPC’s financial sponsorship in 2020 to support student scholarships for two mechanical apprenticeships, and a number of other engineering course scholarships to commence in 2020.
GOTAFE CEO, Travis Heeney said, “We are thrilled to have developed this partnership with SPC which will enable local young people to work and study locally for a great career.”
SPC CEO, Robert Giles said, “This new sponsorship is a fantastic opportunity for SPC to impact the lives of young people in our community and gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience in the expanding SPC business.”
