INFORMATION to help with land-use planning, flood preparedness and flood insurance is now available through a comprehensive portal.

The portal has been developed in collaboration with the City of Greater of Shepparton,  Benalla Rural City, Moira Shire and Strathbogie Shire councils and aims to provide flood-risk information to improve communities’ flood resilience.

“Users can navigate to points of interest, interrogate a range of flood maps showing different magnitudes of flooding or by gauge heights, or search by address and generate a property flood information report based on the latest available data,” Goulburn Broken Catchment Authority statutory planning and floodplain manager , Guy Tierney,  said.

“The portal will also be helpful for property developers, insurance brokers and people wanting to buy or build a new home in these areas.”

The portal includes a user guide, glossary and an easy-to-use interactive map and can be accessed on the Goulburn Broken Catchment Authority website, www.gbcma.vic.gov.au.
