It has been a trying time for many in our region. With small businesses closing their doors and national chains moving on from smaller towns, a focus on supporting our local communities is more important than ever, according to GMCU Numurkah branch manager Carly Gittens.

“The ability to build meaningful connections and offer quality personalised service is so important to us,” Carly said.

“We are all real people with real relationships, so being embedded in our communities is something we are really grateful for.”
Carly believes that encouraging local shopping and banking is an important factor for our region to thrive.

“I’m a big believer that the future of banking is in customer experience and community relationships. It’s important to us to keep our doors open to be able to serve to our members face-to-face, and I believe that helps to empower our local community. If our members can bank here, they might be more likely to shop here too.”

On its commitment to creating positive outcomes in its communities, Carly believes GMCU has a lot to offer that enables its members to do what they need to do, but still offers that personal touch.

“We like to think of ourselves as a one stop shop here at GMCU, we have a large offering of services and access options, and longer opening hours. We’re here for you and we’re not going anywhere!” Carly said.
