Nominations from those interested in joining the Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass Action Group are being sought by Greater Shepparton City Council.

The purpose of the group is to provide advice to Council on the development of the proposed Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass, it has no executive function.

The group has representatives from neighbouring municipalities and six community representatives. The community representative positions are voting members of the Action Group and are appointed for a three-year term.

“There are currently six vacant community representative positions on the Action Group,” Director Sustainable Development Geraldine Christou said.

“Those with an interest in promoting the proposed bypass along its western route, and advocating for its development and resulting benefits, are encouraged to apply.”

Nominations are welcome from those in the freight and transport industry as well as from those representing wider community, social and business interests.

Meetings are held on a needs basis. The appointments will commence in December 2021 and end in December 2024. Nomination forms are available via Council’s website at www.greatershepparton.com.au Forms are to be submitted electronically to council@shepparton.vic.gov.au. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, October 29 2021.
