Better health services for the GV

ALMOST 80 rural and regional hospitals, community health services and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations will share in $120M from the ‘Regional Health Infrastructure Fund’ (RHIF).

The program will deliver a variety of projects across regional Victoria including operating theatre refurbishments, new waiting rooms and hospital beds, accessible paths and ramps, additional consulting rooms, expansions projects and equipment upgrades.

With this latest round of RHIF projects, $490M has been invested in more than 470 regional healthcare projects across the state.

Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes MP announced more than $6.6M is being invested in the Goulburn Valley specifically, including:
· $5,607,310 for NCN Health’s Cobram Urgent Care Centre refurbishment project. Renovation of the Cobram Urgent Care Centre to create a functional workspace which will deliver improved clinical care, enhanced staff and patient safety and enable required infection control measures
· $108,100 for Goulburn Valley Health’s Graham Street facility refurbishment project. The project will include to refurbishment of the sterile supply room and surgical instruments/laser etcher equipment
· $937,125 for Goulburn Valley Hospice Care Service’s Greater Shepparton Community Palliative Care Hub: ‘Access for All project’.

The project will deliver key accessibility and sustainability components of the construction of a Community Palliative Care Hub. Its design ensures GVHCS has capability to meet the Greater Shepparton region’s need for specialist community palliative care
