As Board Chair, I am proud to celebrate 30 years of the Fairley Leadership Program and its lasting contribution across the Goulburn Murray region. Since 1997, Fairley has brought together people from diverse communities, professions and backgrounds, building confidence, strengthening relationships and turning ideas into meaningful action.
The program’s impact extends well beyond graduation. Our 766 alumni contribute across business, agriculture, health, education, government and community organisations. The 2026 Alumni Impact Report estimates that alumni-led initiatives have generated $35.4 million in social value and benefited more than 82,000 people. These outcomes demonstrate the enduring value of investing in regional leadership.

My own journey—from the 2022 Fairley cohort to mentoring, serving as GMCL Treasurer and becoming Board Chair—has reinforced my belief that leadership is an ongoing commitment to learning, listening and contributing.
As a board, we are committed to securing the sustainable funding, partnerships and community support needed to protect Fairley’s future. With government funding withdrawn and delivery costs continuing, we must broaden our funding base while maintaining program quality and accessibility.
Continuing Fairley’s legacy is a shared responsibility. Together, we can ensure future generations have opportunities to learn, connect, lead and strengthen the communities they call home.
