THE Nicholls electorate communities have a crucial decision to make on election day.

The Liberal candidate for Nicholls, Steve Brooks, has a message for our region ahead of the election.

“A vote for anyone other than myself as the Liberal candidate, or our partners in the National Party, is a vote for a Labor-Green-Independent government,” said Mr Brooks.

“Just last week, the ALP promised to deliver the additional 450GL of water if elected and refused to rule out buy-backs in order to deliver it.

“It was Labor South Australian Senator Penny Wong’s water buy-backs which broke the back of the GMID. These buybacks damaged the dairy industry in particular, but all across the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District the summer green turned to a patchwork of yellow and dust.

“Our region delivered some 80 percent of the environmental water bought from all irrigators made desperate by the drought,” Mr Brooks said.

Mr Brooks wishes to detail his priorities should he be elected.

“If elected, I will be tireless in my advocacy for our regional investment, infrastructure, and improved government services. The last time you chose a Liberal, Sharman Stone, she released a wave of Federal spending into the region. The Liberals saved SPC, fought Fire Blight, brought new waves of refugee workers into the region, the list goes on and on,” said Mr Brooks.

“I want to put that same energy and drive back into this seat, under a Liberal-led Coalition Government in Canberra. We have too much to lose otherwise.”
