AFTER two years of online-only events, Transition Tatura is thrilled to announce that their eighth annual short film festival will be a face-to-face affair.
The ‘Communities Shaping the Future Film Festival’ aims to champion local communities and neighbourhoods and raise awareness of climate change and how we can address and tackle climactic changes at a local level.
The film festival this year, themed ‘A Self-Sufficient Community; Transition to a Better World’, will be held at the Mechanic’s Institute Hall, 75 Hogan Street, Tatura on Saturday August 27 from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
There will be plenty of tea and coffee available starting from 9:40am, with nibblies and lunch provided.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $11.50 for children under 12 and are available from Ticketbooth via this web address: events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/communities-shaping-the-future-self-sufficiency.
Tickets can also be purchased on the day for $25.00.
Transition Tatura also challenged the school children of the Goulburn Valley with an art competition to create a piece on centred on the topic of ‘More Self-Sufficient Living.’
The categories of art for this competition were visual art, performance art, literature and media arts. You can meet the local young artists and admire their endeavours, as well as participate in a Q&A from 2.00pm- 3.00pm. Entry to the ‘Schools Art Challenge Presentation’ is free but registration via Ticketbooth s required to gauge crowd numbers.
