ON Tuesday, March 7 at approximately 1.05pm, a vehicle travelling north along Johnson Street turned right onto Hoskins Street where it was struck by another car heading south along Corio Street.

Failing to give way at the roundabout, the second vehicle sent the blue Ford hatchback into the air, striking it on the front passenger side before it came to rest, upturned on its roof across an island.

Both the drivers of the accident were assessed by paramedics at the scene with the male driver of the upturned vehicle taken to GV Health as a precaution, with minor cuts and abrasions.

Sergeant Dariel Wagstaff of Shepparton Police Station said the female driver who failed to give way was fortunately unharmed but was issued with a penalty notice.

An eyewitness at the scene, who had been driving just ahead of the Ford hatchback said he heard a large bang before seeing the vehicle flip in his rear-view mirror and was amazed that no-one was more seriously hurt.
