PUBLIC access to the walkway over Goulburn Weir will be closed while inspections and maintenance works are carried out on the structure.
Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) storage operations south manager Paul Beard, said that Goulburn Weir is an essential asset for the Northern Victoria community, and proactive maintenance works are regularly undertaken to ensure its long-term integrity.
While the reserve next to the weir will remain open, the closure of the walkway means that visitors will need to park at the Goulburn Weir Road carpark to access the playground.
The closure is effective immediately, and signs will be placed at each end of the weir to notify the public.
