A dazzling celebration of culture and community lit up Saturday, November 2, as vibrant costumes, captivating performances, and joyous energy transformed the United Nations 2024 International Parade of Costumes Competition into an unforgettable night. Hosted by the Filipino Australian & Friends Association (FAFA), the event radiated cultural pride and brought people together in a powerful showcase of tradition and creativity.

Entertainment included powerful vocals by local singer Dinna Aunzo and a duet with Leigh Johnson, while Bibiana Sto Domingo warmed up the crowd with her heartfelt performance.

The highlight of the night was the International Parade of Costumes, where participants proudly displayed stunning outfits representing cultures from around the world. Each costume told a story of tradition and pride, and the dancers, dressed in vibrant attire, brought elegance and joy to the dance floor. The venue and table settings were meticulously arranged, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and inviting.

Guest speaker Mariola Nebiu delivered an inspiring speech on the beauty of cultural expression, sharing insights into how each traditional costume symbolises history, values, and identity, and urging all to embrace and celebrate their roots.

FAFA extends deep gratitude to everyone who made the event memorable, including guest speaker Mariola Nebiu, emcee Cecilia Babano Cash, singer Dinna Aunzo, the talented dancers and performers, judges, FAFA committees, decorators, volunteers, raffle ticket buyers, and generous donors.

Congratulations to the winners of the FAFA International Parade Costume Competition and to all raffle prize recipients!
