Shepparton Adviser takes out advertising campaign award

THE historic combined Victorian Country Press Association (VCPA)/Country Press NSW conference and awards night at Yarrawonga have come to a stunning conclusion, with winners crowned in 19 categories for the VCPA, and six national winners announced as part of the CPA excellence awards.

At the awards, The Shepparton Adviser received the award for ‘Best Locally Produced Advertising Campaign’ for a road safety awareness campaign with advocacy group, RoadSafe Goulburn Valley.

Designed by The Adviser’s in-house production team, with creative credits to team member Sandra Sáenz, the series of advertisements were produced with guidance from RoadSafe GV and the TAC, educating readers on essential road safety messages in a visually appealing way.

The Adviser was also a highly commended for ‘Overall Newspaper Excellence (Free)’ category, which was awarded to the Surf Coast Times.

Judge Darren Robinson said, “Last year’s winner, The Shepparton Adviser, impressed with powerful editorial coverage and exceptional photography that gave the publication a professional edge.

“Production quality was tight and consistent, and the print is among the best in Australia,”

Mr Robinson said. “A vibrant, high-calibre paper that came very close to taking out the top honour.”

This year’s VCPA awards night attracted a record 670 entries from publishers for the 19 categories on offer, surpassing last year’s previous high of 546 submissions.

More than 170 people packed the Sebel Resort on Friday night for just the second joint event in the two state associations.
