Our community is at the heart of everything we do at GV Hospice. The compassion, generosity, and dedication shown by our local supporters—through donations, volunteering, in-kind contributions, and commitment to our Op Shop—make our work not only possible but inspires us. Without this support we could not meet the rapidly increasing need within our community.
This collective strength has led to remarkable achievements. In 2024 we were proud to be the first community service to reach 20/20 benchmarks on a national palliative care outcome measure established 20 years ago—an extraordinary milestone that reflects both clinical excellence and outcome-driven care. Equally motivating is the rapid growth in the number of people we currently support, up 64 per cent in the last three years, with 150 patients (and their carers) currently receiving care, free of charge, at any time. This means more individuals receive the comfort and dignity they deserve, as we focus on ensuring they receive symptom support throughout their journey, not just at end of life.
Every achievement we celebrate reflects the community that stands with us. Their support inspires us to keep striving for compassionate, high-quality care. Together, we are building a legacy of care, compassion and choice.
