When Shepparton needs metal turned into cash, locals know where to go. Future Recycling Shepparton has quietly become more than just a scrap yard: it’s a community hub that keeps tradies working, locals employed, clubs funded, and charity drives moving forward.
Operating in Shepparton for many years and formally established as Future Recycling in 2016, the business is proudly run by locals, employing locals, and engaging local contractors to deliver reliable, community-driven service.
The New Dookie Road depot has grown from seven to 12 staff in two years, reflecting what Depot Manager Daniel Thewma calls a “strong growth trajectory.” That growth has been underpinned by deliberate investment back into the region – with around $18,500 in sponsorships and a similar amount in advertising through local media – ensuring Future Recycling is a household name for metal recycling in the Goulburn Valley.
This year, Future Recycling Shepparton has been recognised with nominations in the Greater Shepparton Business Excellence Awards and the Best Advertising and Marketing Campaign (2025) category, highlighting its commitment to local engagement and visibility.

The depot manages the region’s only 24-hour B/Double public registered weighbridge, providing transparent, audited, and calibrated measurements for trucks and both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Customers can take advantage of a quick, easy, no-fuss payment system that deposits funds directly onto their card.
Friendly, helpful service remains a hallmark of the team, who process hundreds of transactions every month. With an emphasis on trust, accuracy, and accessibility, Future Recycling continues to strengthen its reputation as Best Scrap Yard in Shepp.
“We take pride in running a professional operation that’s transparent, accurate, and community-minded,” Mr Thewma said. “From our weigh bridge to our customer service, we aim to set the standard for recycling in regional Victoria.”
