THE first weekly winners in the GMCU $25,000 Giveaway have been revealed, with 10 lucky shoppers each taking home a $250 GMCU Visa card, courtesy of GMCU, simply for supporting local businesses.
Among the winners was Tish Okely, whose winning entry came from a purchase at Shepparton Sewing Centre. Delighted by the news, Tish, who makes costumes, said she plans to use her prize to have her sewing machine serviced at Shepparton Sewing Centre.

SPC Factory Sales and Kyabram Bakery each produced two winning entries in the first draw. Kyabram’s Rick Abbey, who entered after shopping at Kyabram Bakery, was thrilled by his unexpected win.
“Oh wow, I didn’t expect to win! I’m trying to get a new phone, so this is perfect,” he said.
Another winner, Diana Van Eeden, entered through SPC Factory Sales.
“Fantastic. I’ll have a look through the participating businesses and see what tempts me,” she said.
Michael Hare’s winning entry came from Fairleys IGA. He said the call from The Adviser made his day.
“Very good, excellent,” he said. “I won’t have trouble spending it.”
Georgia Nightingale was equally excited when told she had won.
“Oh my God, that’s amazing!” she said. “I think I’ll spend a bit at Krueger’s and on kids’ clothes.”
At the time of publication, The Adviser was still attempting to contact several winners, who will be announced in a future edition.
Other first-week winners include Paulette Adams and Anne Quirk.
The GMCU $25,000 Giveaway continues throughout June and July, with 10 $250 shopper prizes to be awarded each week, along with prizes for participating businesses and the major $5,000 prize still up for grabs.
