TWENTY lucky locals have already been awarded $250 each from the $25,000 GMCU Giveaway, which is well underway.
The competition rewards local shoppers that spend $10 or more at participating stores, giving them a chance to win weekly $250 prizes and go in the draw for the $5,000 grand prize, awarded at the end of the Giveaway.
This week, eight of the 10 winners have already been notified of their win.
Dana Karakai, who recently bought a house with her partner, scored a $250 Visa debit card, courtesy of GMCU, from shopping at Trelly’s Outdoors.
“Every dollar counts,” Dana said. “There was a specific, new YETI purple drink bottle I wanted and couldn’t find it anywhere else, so I went to Trelly’s and they encouraged me to enter, then I got the call to say I’d won!”
Leigh Voogd won his prize shopping at Fairleys IGA. She said, “Over the years, this is my third time winning. I love this competition and keep entering.”
Lynn Ahmet won after spending just over $10 at Perfect Pieces. Lynn said, “How good’s that? It has made my day. I need a new vacuum.”
Other winners from Week 2 are Jonathan Sherrif who won at North End Bakehouse, Madi Healey who won at Shepparton Terry White Pharmacy, Chloe Messsenger who shopped at Kybram’s Ciaveralla’s Betta Home Living, Laura Mason who shopped at O’Dea’s Saddlery, and Sandra Donaldson who shopped at Cafe Three620 in Kyabram.
Week 1 winners were: Letitia Okely (Shepparton Sewing Centre), Anne Quirk (Coles Riverside Plaza), Paulette Adams (Woolworths Shepparton Marketplace), Diana Angenent (SPC Factory Sales), Rick Abbey (Kyabram Bakery), Michael Hare (Fairleys IGA), Reece Wood (Kyabram Bakery), Georgia Nightingale (Big W), David Mawson (Just Cuts Shepparton Marketplace).
One winner from Week 1 and two winners from Week 2 are still yet to be contacted. If you get that call from The Adviser, be sure to pick up because you might be a $250 winner.

The competition runs until Sunday, July 26, with the grand prize drawn Monday, July 27.
