AUSTRALIA’S most celebrated portrait prize arrives at Shepparton Art Museum next month, with SAM chosen as the only Victorian venue for the touring exhibition of the Archibald Prize 2026, running September 5 to November 1, 2026.
The exhibition features the winning portrait by Melbourne-based Richard Lewer, alongside 58 other finalist works, offering audiences in Victoria the first opportunity to experience the country’s most prestigious exhibition outside of its Sydney home.
