FAMILIES will find plenty to see and do at the 150th Shepparton Show, with a packed program of free activities running across both days.
Kids can get active and creative at the Connected Circus workshop, where they can try their hand at movement, circus skills and playful activities.
Young scientists can get hands-on at the Fizzics Science Show, featuring science toys, interactive activities and liquid nitrogen demonstrations led by an experienced education team.
For a limited time, children can enter a Fizzics Science Show colouring competition to win a one-day family pass to the Show. Entries are available through the Shepparton Show Facebook page and close October 1.
Dinkum Dinosaurs, dubbed the ‘funniest dinosaurs in Australia’, will bring two laugh-out-loud comedy shows to the event. The comedy ventriloquist performances invite children to join the action as Ranger Jim and his cheeky dinosaur companions, Hunter and Tickles, deliver plenty of silliness, playful banter and audience interaction for young and young at heart.
Free camel rides and Colonial Clydesdales carriage rides will operate across both days. Natimuk A&P Society will also bring its grain header simulator, giving visitors the chance to experience what it is like to drive a grain header.
There will also be blacksmithing demonstrations from Jesse’s Blacksmith, SandStation sand sculptures and sand art kits, along with roving entertainment from Farmer Bob Buchan and Holy Cow, Batacuda Drumming Duo and juggler Corey Tomlins.
The animal nursery is sure to be a hit with younger visitors and will be open from 10am to 6pm on both days.
On Saturday, the Rural Health Unit’s Teddy Bear Hospital will be at the Show, where children can bring along their favourite teddy for a free check-up.
