Come and celebrate 150 years of memories, agriculture, entertainment and community
THIS year’s milestone Shepparton Show is packed with entertainment, family friendly activities and traditional agricultural show attractions.
Gates open 10am Friday, October 9 and close at 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
The official opening of the Show will take place at the Grandstand at 11am, celebrating 150 years with the commemorative quilt unveiling, cake-cutting and music by the RAAF Brass Quintet.
Across the Show, musical entertainment will also be provided by the Greater Shepparton Secondary College jazz and rock bands on Friday, and Goulburn Valley Brass and Wind on Saturday.
Shepparton Agricultural Society secretary Julie Winch said Friday’s ‘Showdown at the Show’ sideshow event will be a must-see, with local leaders including Sam Birrell MP, Kim O’Keeffe MP, Wendy Lovell MP, Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell MP and Kyabram Show president and Rural Ambassador award runner up Harry Lloyd competing in a series of fun challenges.
Commencing at 1pm in the main arena, representatives will participate in a 25m hobby horse race, toss the hula hoop over the dummy cow’s head, and a gumboot throw, with the winner taking home the Golden Gumboot.
Also on Friday, the volunteers’ barbecue will say thanks to the many people who help put on a successful show. People who are comfortable working with animals, can follow instructions, and assist with setting up and packing down are welcome to contact the Shepparton Agricultural Show Society for volunteer opportunities.
The full 2026 program is on page 18, and it is packed with traditional favourites and dazzling displays, animals, performances and more.
A much-loved favourite, the Sideshow Alley, features a huge range of sideshows travelling from Melbourne and Perth to entertain Shepparton showgoers, as well as showbags, food trucks, rides and much more, open 10am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
The 150th Shepparton Show will close with the Mr Skye Candy fireworks display at 9am on Saturday, weather permitting.
