Rural health has been in the doldrums for some time yet it looks to be slowly on the improve.
Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp MP is calling on local health services to consider applying for a grant for construction and refurbishment projects. The fund, first established in 2016 has so far funded 284 grants to a total value of more than $240 million.
In bringing forward the call, Mark Gepp has advised that the fund has received another $100 million that will go towards upgrades, refurbishments and state-of-the-art medical and engineering equipment.
Rural and regional hospitals, health services and agencies can make submissions via the Health Vic website.
“Local patients deserve the very best care, in a comfortable environment, closer to home and loved ones,” said Mr Gepp.
