In 2019, the Victorian Government introduced new legislation to make the spa and swimming pool registration mandatory. The first round of inspections are due by June 1st 2022.
Pool and Spa barriers are designed to reduce the likelihood of drownings and near drownings. As such, to be able to apply the mandated requirements in the standards to ensure compliance when undertaking inspections is a huge responsibility and not one to be taken lightly.
I began training to become a registered inspector in 2020. In January 2022 my application was accepted by the VBA and my license as a Building Inspector – Pool Safety was issued.
A Shepparton local for the past 23 years, many local pool owners may know me from my time training and working at Poolwerx in Shepparton. I have extensive knowledge of the pool and spa maintenance and service industry, and barrier compliance felt like a natural progression in my career.
North Vic Pool Safety Compliance is a one woman show. I answer the calls and emails, I book the job, I do the inspection, and I sort out the clients’ relevant documents.
I am a proud supporter of the Hunter Boyle Swim Foundation; a cause close to the hearts of many Shepparton families. Donations from every pool that I inspect goes towards the foundation, providing swimming lessons for kids and training for swimming teachers.
