AFTER adapting to meet the unprecedented challenges of 2020, Goulburn Valley Water is ready to continue delivering for its customers in 2021.

After 10 months of working remotely, office-based staff are beginning to transition back into the workplace in a safe manner, with front counters anticipated to reopen to the public on Monday, February 1 under new safety measures.

Field and operational staff continue to work as normal under safety protocols to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing.

Managing director, Dr Steve Capewell, said the coming year would see Goulburn Valley Water focusing on understanding future opportunities, driven by customer perspectives and needs.

“We know we have been able to respond and embed flexibility and adaptability into our organisation thanks to 2020, so now we want the next phase of our growth as an essential service provider to be driven by our customers, local industries and communities,” Dr Capewell said.

“We will be prioritising spending time listening really closely to our customers and communities so we can understand how we can best contribute to social and economic growth in our region.

“This year, we’ll have a strong focus on innovation in our business and a key part of that is our circular economy projects and other emerging opportunities, as we know they will help us continue to drive sustainability and climate resilience.”
Goulburn Valley Water staff are looking forward to continuing to provide safe, reliable, and affordable water services for the Greater Shepparton region in 2021.
