The Goulburn Valley has long been recognised for its ability to innovate, adapt and produce. From agriculture and food production through to advanced manufacturing and engineering, the region continues to demonstrate that world-class products and services can be delivered from regional Victoria to customers across Australia and beyond
Furphy Foundry is proud to be part of that story. From its manufacturing facility in Shepparton, the company designs and manufactures open space infrastructure products that are supplied to communities in every state and territory throughout Australia, as well as New Zealand. Whether it is a park shelter in regional Queensland, street furniture in metropolitan Melbourne, a public barbecue in Western Australia, or infrastructure supporting communities in New Zealand, Furphy products are helping people connect with the outdoors every day.
As one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of public open space infrastructure, Furphy Foundry has grown into a truly national supplier while remaining firmly committed to its regional roots. Every product leaving the Shepparton facility is engineered and manufactured to withstand the demands of public use, ensuring communities across our vast nation benefit from durable, high-quality Australian-made infrastructure.

According to Managing Director Sam Furphy, the past 12 months have been particularly rewarding for the business.
“We’ve experienced strong growth across our core product ranges and expanded our relationships with a number of new commercial customers,” Mr Furphy said.
“Just as importantly, we’ve continued to improve the way we work through the introduction of new technologies, including robotics and artificial intelligence. We’re by no means at the front of the curve, but I take great comfort in knowing that a traditional organisation such as ours is embracing and implementing change that will support us well into the future.”
While technology is helping drive the next chapter of the business, family remains at the heart of the Furphy story. This year marked the arrival of the sixth generation of the Furphy family into the business, with sons Hamish Furphy joining in Marketing and AI, and Tom Furphy commencing as a Construction Project Supervisor.
“Seeing Hamish and Tom begin their careers within the business has been incredibly rewarding,” Mr Furphy said. “It continues a long-standing Furphy tradition and reinforces our commitment to building a business that can continue serving Australian communities for generations to come.”
For Furphy Foundry, the future is about more than growth. It is about demonstrating what a resourceful regional community can achieve when it combines skilled people, innovative thinking and a commitment to manufacturing excellence. From Shepparton to every corner of Australia and New Zealand, the company’s success is a reminder that regional businesses can compete on a national stage while remaining proudly local.
