For more than 160 years, J. Furphy & Sons has been part of the Goulburn Valley’s manufacturing story. Today, the fifth-generation family business continues to build on its proud Shepparton heritage, combining generations of experience with modern facilities, specialist knowledge and an ongoing commitment to Australian manufacturing.

From concept to completion, Furphy offers a unique combination of design, engineering, fabrication, hot dip galvanizing, blasting and painting, stainless steel tank and vessel manufacturing, and transport and logistics.

Operating across Shepparton, Geelong and Albury, Furphy’s three regional sites work collaboratively to provide complete engineered steel solutions for customers throughout Australia. This connected approach provides a single point of accountability while allowing projects to draw on the experience, equipment and capacity available across the regional network.

Furphy’s capabilities range from precise repeat manufacturing and custom structural steel fabrication through to large-format stainless steel tanks, vessels and silos. Its hot dip galvanizing facilities can accommodate everything from small components to oversized structural steel, while specialist blasting and protective coating systems provide lasting protection for infrastructure, industrial and specialised projects.

The group’s dedicated transport fleet connects its facilities with customers across Victoria, New South Wales and beyond, helping ensure materials are collected and delivered safely and efficiently.

Quality and technical expertise underpin every project. Across the group, 18 ACA-certified Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspectors help ensure coatings comply with AS/NZS 4680, while Furphy’s broader accreditations, memberships and inspection capabilities support consistent standards across manufacturing and finishing.

Furphy works across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, construction, dairy and food processing, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, government, transport and logistics.

While its scale and capabilities continue to evolve, Furphy’s foundations remain firmly regional. Continued investment in skilled people, apprenticeships, modern facilities and Australian manufacturing strengthens not only the business, but also the communities and industries it serves.

From initial design through to final delivery, Furphy provides complete engineered steel solutions built to perform and built to last.
