A stage for all in Shepparton

A WHOLE NEW WORLD… Creating Drama, a Shepparton-based initiative led by Helen Janke, provides an empowering performing arts platform for individuals with disabilities. A REMARKABLE initiative based in Shepparton, Creating Drama, is set to embark on a year-long journey of inclusivity, creativity, and performance as they take up residence at Riverlinks Studios. Led by the dedicated Helen Janke, this unique program offers individuals with disabilities an opportunity to shine on the theatrical stage.

Over the past five years, Creating Drama has grown from a small group to a vibrant community of 24 performers and seven support staff. This growth is a testament to Helen’s passion and commitment, proving that there’s no limit to what anyone can achieve in the world of performing arts.

The upcoming performance of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is one to look forward to, as the performers will rehearse twice a week over the course of the year in preparation for the show. Helen’s wealth of theatrical experience and strong connections with renowned local performing arts groups and individuals ensure that everyone involved receives top-notch training.

Helen extends her gratitude to the Greater Shepparton City Council for their steadfast support and invites everyone to witness the transformative power of inclusive arts when they hit the stage in November.
