Abby & James Simpson have been together for eight years, after a summer courtship filled with Cold Rock Ice Creams. Their joint vision of getting married outdoors by a river, surrounded by beautiful trees, came to fruition without a hitch thanks to James’ predilection for excel spreadsheets.
“It was super helpful to oversee all aspects of our day and track our spending, quotes, suppliers, guest list etc,” said Abby.
“On that note, using local suppliers was invaluable, they’re familiar with the area and they have their heart in the events they work on. We also recommend getting an event planner onboard to assist, if possible, in hindsight, it would have been super helpful to have someone manage the lead up and coordination of the day.”
Abby & James stayed at the property they were married at, along with their families, which meant the wedding celebrations extended across a few days. As a parting gift to their 150 guests, they hand-made strawberry jam and pickles.
