Our Goulburn Valley magazine… Inspiring Innovation, Resilience & Passion in our Community.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama

Greater Shepparton Foundation (GSF) is recognised as a trusted local philanthropic hub, we aim for inclusive, interconnected communities where everybody has an equal opportunity to participate.

Our community has proven time and again its resilience and ability to lend a hand when needed most. The floods in October 2022 demonstrated how seamlessly the Gouburn Valley community can come together to support one another, whether it be through filling sandbags, delivering food boxes or through flood recovery groups.

GSF’s Community Flood Recovery Campaign raised close to $300,000, much of which was promptly dispersed to areas of need via not-for-profit organisations, in language health information, food and material aid, grants, mental health services, repairs to infrastructure where insurance could not cover, scholarships and respite programs. We are acutely aware however, that flood recovery is a marathon, not a sprint, therefore recovery efforts continue as we respond to need.

Our region and its people are known for their resilience, innovation and passion, and I look forward to listening to continuing to work with community to uncover creative and inspiring ways we can tackle disadvantage in Greater Shepparton.
