MOTORISTS are advised to prepare for disruptions as major roadworks are set to begin on Wyndham Street, Shepparton next week.

Greater Shepparton City Council have announced that works along the northbound traffic lane, north of the Nixon Street intersection will commence Monday, May 13.

The nature of these works is to renew damaged and defective concrete kerb and channel, and will also include the installation of stormwater infrastructure to relieve current drainage issues around Wyndham Street.

Works are anticipated to be completed over a four-week duration, between 6am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday, weather permitting. If you travel on Wyndham Street, you should prepare for delays northbound from Nixon Street to Knight Street. One northbound traffic lane will be closed daily during construction hours and there will be speed reductions and closed parking bays adjoining the works for the duration of the project.

The footpath will remain open for pedestrian use, as well as maintaining pedestrian access to adjoining businesses.

During the works, vehicle access to staff/customer carpark at the rear of Wyndham Street businesses will be closed, and access will only be available from Welsford Street (see map).

Council has asked that the community take extra care when travelling in the area during these works. Motorists are asked to obey all worksite and advisory signage and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.
