HAVING your pet wander off from home can be traumatic. It is part of the reason to have these family animals registered and tagged with the council.
Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding all responsible pet owners to register their cats and dogs and pay their renewal by Saturday, April 10.
During 2019-2020, only 28 percent of the dogs and only three percent of the cats admitted to the council shelter were registered. Of these, only 64 percent of dogs and 5 percent of cats were claimed by their owners.
Registration greatly improves the chances of these animals being reunited with you, especially if you use the opportunity for renewal to check all your details are current.
