IT wouldn’t be an agricultural show without animals, and the 150th Shepparton Show will bring together livestock, working animals, and a host of much-loved traditions.
Across both days, from 10am to 6pm, visitors can head to the animal nursery to meet residents of RedLilly Farm and Aussie Animal Display. The nursery will be located between the Arts & Crafts Pavilion and the Secretary’s Office, along the Benalla Road side of the showgrounds.
Friday’s animal judging gets underway at 1pm in the Main Arena, with miniature horses and ponies, small and little horses, Shetlands and Led Pintos among the classes.
The Main Arena will also host the working dog display on Friday, while the Dog High Jump takes place at 6pm in the McIntosh Centre, followed by the All Breeds Youth Cattle Show.
Saturday’s program will feature the Championship Dog Show, Dairy Cattle, Boer Goats, Poultry, the DGSA Vic Branch Dairy Goat Show and a sheep shearing demonstration.
The horse program will be held at Tatura Park on Saturday, hosted by Tatura Dressage Club, with the dressage program continuing on Sunday.
Beyond the animal events, visitors can enjoy traditional agricultural show attractions including woodchop demonstrations, blacksmithing and the GV Vintage Machinery and Tractor Display.
And, in a fitting finale to the 150th celebrations, the festivities will conclude with fireworks at 9pm on Saturday, weather permitting.
