As Australia’s largest regionally based, self-funded social enterprise, GAME Traffic & Contracting, together with its recruitment and labour hire arm, Recruitment Select, is setting the standard for workforce development in regional Victoria.

Proudly born and headquartered in Shepparton, GAME has grown to become the leading provider of traffic management and planning services outside metropolitan centres. Employing over 200 team members, the organisation is widely recognised not only for its scale but also for its steadfast commitment to its people, planning, compliance and safety.

Offering a broad swathe of services, including traffic management and planning, equipment hire, temporary fencing and grounds maintenance, GAME services both local businesses, large contractors and Government agencies across the region.

At the forefront of industry change, GAME has been leading the way in implementing the Victorian Government’s Traffic Management Reform (TMR) agenda over the last 18 months. Not only has the organisation swiftly adopted new standards in compliance, training and safety, it has also served by helping shape reforms through practical, on-the-ground insight and a commitment to continuous improvement.

As CEO Josh Hudson said, “In regard to the reform, we have developed systems, updated our policies and procedures to make sure that we are ahead of the pack in terms of compliance and it’s also about educating our customers and contractors with those new requirements as we have the knowledge and experience.”

With over 17 years’ experience in the implementation of updated traffic management plans, permits and compliance, GAME has remained ahead of the curve, assisting with training for new traffic controllers and continuing to partner with local training providers to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified staff. GAME has over 150 traffic utilities, Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA’s) and bollard deployment trucks and are leading the space in technology through e-stop traffic lights, VMS Boards with radar capabilities and trailer mounted traffic lights with automatic boom gates.

Delivering services across the state, from Boort to Bright, Wodonga to Wallan and everywhere in between, GAME’s broad commercial operations directly support its social enterprise initiative, Geared4Careers, a youth engagement program embedded in regional secondary schools.

“This year, our 5,000th student completed the program, which began in 2011. We’re currently supporting 1,900 students this year, our highest number ever across 23 secondary campuses in regional Victoria and southern NSW, up from 14 schools last year,” Josh said.
