SHEPPARTON United’s Rehan Bari claimed Cricket Shepparton’s Lightfoot Medal with an impressive five-vote lead on Monday night. Bari, a dynamic batting all-rounder, secured the coveted individual prize after a stellar season on the pitch.

Outshining competitors like Tim Arnel, Reinhardt Engler, and Andrew Riordan, who tied with 12 votes each, Bari’s victory marks a triumphant return after finishing runner-up in 2017-18.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Bari showcased his prowess, accumulating 583 runs at an outstanding average of 58.3 and bagging 12 wickets at 31.4. His consistency and performance stood out in a field of talented players, with only two others managing to score over 400 runs and take more than 10 wickets.

From his unbeaten 109-run blitz in the second match to subsequent strong performances, Bari’s dominance was evident early on. Despite a slight dip in form later in the season, his five half-centuries and a century secured him the prestigious Lightfoot Medal.

This latest accolade adds to Bari’s impressive collection, which includes three consecutive Williams Family Senior Club Champion awards for Shepparton United, highlighting his consistent excellence on the cricket field.
