IMPROVEMENTS to the high-level boat ramp at Waranga Basin’s Harriman Point are nearing completion.
The project has seen the 155m boat ramp widened to become a double lane ramp, with an adjacent gravel turn-around apron.
The upgrades out at the Waranga Basin have come after Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) secured funding through its partnerships with Victorian Fisheries Authority (Australian Government’s Recreational Fishing and Camping Facilities Program), Better Boating Victoria and Department of Environment Land Water and Planning.
Waranga Basin will also receive a full upgrade of navigation aids, including water buoys, general perimeter signage, beacons and boating safety information signs at boat ramps, before Christmas.
With water storages, such as Waranga Basin, becoming more popular than normal over the warmer months, GMW will continue to upgrade and maintain recreational infrastructure to protect and preserve water quality, cultural heritage and the environment.
