Car set on fire after crash in Kialla

ON the night of Friday, April 23, a Ford Falcon (AU) was severely damaged in a crash just over the bridge connecting Shepparton to Kialla on the Goulburn Valley Highway. The occupants fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

The following evening, around 8:30 pm, the car was deliberately set alight, posing a potential fire risk to nearby homes.

Fire Rescue Victoria responded to a 000-call made at 8:36 pm and arrived on the scene within seven minutes to extinguish the flames.

Police believe the vehicle was not stolen and have launched an investigation. They are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage that could assist their inquiries to come forward.
