Closed for Christmas but COVID-19 is still in the community

RESIDENTS are urged to remain vigilant over Christmas in the wake of Omicron’s spread. If you are approaching the five-month interval since your second COVID-19 vaccine, you are now eligible for a booster shot. Australia’s chief medical officer Paul Kelly has said that three vaccine doses present the same level of protection against Omicron as two doses did against the Delta strain.

Vaccinations from GV Health run premises will be closed over Christmas. The McIntosh Centre was closed for holidays on Christmas Day and will remain closed until Monday, January 3, 2022. Please check with your GP or local pharmacy for availability of booster shots over the holidays.

Testing sites remain open although hours and availability are subject to change. If you have symptoms and need a test, do not wait too long. The worst gift you can give these holidays is the gift of COVID-19.
