Greater Shepparton City Council recently undertook community consultation in the form of a survey into how Council engages with the community. The results from the consultation were collated and have informed the draft Community Engagement Policy.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Seema Abdullah thanked the community for their participation in the survey to inform the draft policy.
“The survey gave us an opportunity to see what type of information the community like to receive, and how they like to receive it,” Cr Abdullah said.
“This allows us to communicate effectively and efficiently with our community, and help us keep them involved in what is happening around the region.
The survey showed the community’s preferred option to receive information was via email, while indicating the community would most like to be engaged on neighbourhood and community plans, strategies such as waste, community safety, budget and rates, major roadwork upgrades, parking and children’s services.
The draft policy will be available for feedback for an extended period from 18th of December 2019 to 14th of February 2020 due to the Christmas and holiday period.
