Kim O’Keeffe, Nationals Member for Shepparton District said, “Our community has been rocked by horrific crashes; the impact is profound and long-lasting.”

Addressing the concerns submitted by over 290 people, the hearing aims to ensure safety on rural roads, especially for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.

Ms O’Keeffe added, “A public hearing means that vulnerable user groups and key stakeholders can share their input on ways we can make our roads safer.”

The committee will report to Parliament in March 2024.
