Deb Chumbley – President Goulburn Valley Pride

Goulburn Valley Pride is passionate about celebrating Diversity and Inclusion and elevating the voices of our LGBTIQA+ community.

While making up an estimated 10% of the population, stigma and minority stress see the community over-represented in homelessness, unemployment, and under-employment and with higher reported levels of mental and physical health issues including self-harm and suicide.

Creating safe inclusive spaces and opportunities for connection and social support is key to addressing these inequalities and Goulburn Valley Pride is leading the way in this space. We organise a range of events across the year including and our annual Pride festival Out In The Open which this year will run from the 10 – 19 November including Carnival day in the Queens Gardens on Saturday 18 November.

Goulburn Valley Pride is a not-for-profit charitable organisation powered by our amazing volunteers. Based here in the Goulburn Valley we provide direct support to community members including NDIS social support. Engaged across the community we provide education to businesses and community groups Goulburn Valley Pride partners with a number of organisations including GOTAFE and GSCC working towards making their services more inclusive.

Supporting our LGBTIQA+ community is good for everybody, and we welcome all members of the community to come along to our events or make contact at any time.
