Dungala-Kaiela Writing Awards still open to entries

THE deadline for submissions to the 2020-21 Dungala-Kaiela Writing Awards has been extended to Friday, April 30.

Started in 2012, the writing awards are open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a connection to the Greater Shepparton region.

There are three categories in the Dungala-Kaiela Writing Awards: The Story/Yarn/Article/Play category, and the Poem/Lyric/Rap category, both have four sections – Junior section (Prep to Grade 6), Youth section (13 to 18 years), Open section (19 years and over) and the Elders section (65 years and over). There is also a category for Aboriginal languages of this region in any written form.
