Summer is nearly here and with the warmer weather there’s no better time to get out on the water.

Just in time for the heat, Strathbogie Shire Council recently opened a new deep water boat ramp at the Goulburn River, providing better and safer access to waterways for boating and fishing.

The new facility is accessible via road entry from Loddings Lane and will provide free 24-hour access to the river, as well as new car and trailer parking.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor, Amanda McClaren said the new boat ramp would be a game changer for both locals and visitors to Nagambie.

“Nagambie Lakes and the Goulburn River is enjoyed by boaters and anglers as well as host a number of sporting events, holding over 20 major events and competitions each year,” Mayor McClaren said.

“The new boat ramp will allow for direct access to the Goulburn River when the lake is closed for events providing ongoing entry for the public to enjoy the waterways.”
