Euroa Primary pledges Water Only

STUDENTS at Euroa Primary School have pledged to become a Water Only school, one of more than 80 workplaces, kinders, schools and playgroups signed on to Goulburn Valley Water’s (GVW) Water Only program, encouraging people to commit to only drinking water while at school or work.

GVW managing director, Steve Capewell, said Water Only aimed to encourage people to make smart choices about what they drink. Some drink options, including soft drinks, iced teas and fruit juice, have more than 10 teaspoons of sugar – almost double the recommended added sugar intake for an adult.

A two percent drop in your body’s water levels can also cause a 13 percent drop in concentration.
Principal Kim McCabe said we need to make a deliberate effort to promote all the healthy choices students and families can make in our community.

“It takes a village to raise a child. It takes a town to raise children. Euroa Primary School is committed to building strong, healthy partnerships with local clubs and organisations to wrap around our children so they can have those Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies,” said Principal McCabe.
