MEMBER for Northern Victoria Region, Wendy Lovell, has slammed the State Budget handed down last week, saying it failed to deliver jobs and vital Shepparton projects.
According to Ms Lovell, the examples of where the Shepparton electorate had been “short changed” by the State Government’s 2020-21 Budget included no funding commitments for:
• Stage 1 of the Shepparton Bypass, despite Federal funding worth $208M promised
• To complete the GV Health redevelopment which would include a Mother & Baby unit and improved mental health and outpatient facilities
• Redevelopment of the Maude Street Mall
• Redevelopment of the Shepparton Sports Stadium
“The 2020-21 State Budget is one that yet again ignores the infrastructure needs of Shepparton and fails to deliver the funding investment that will create jobs and assist the economic recovery of the region,” Ms Lovell said.
